My London Beat
I have just got back from a busy and fun filled couple of days in London - sleeping in my daughter Jessica’s tiny guest room bed - (a strange, but oddly lovely experience) - and it occurred to me that I should pass on some of our insider’s London information to my blogosphere.
In the crazy eighties when I lived in London, I belonged to a set of women that were rather disparagingly named Sloane Rangers. The species no longer really exists today; a Sloane Ranger was woman whose universe rotated around Sloane Square, mostly Peter Jones department store, she did this wearing the obligatory Lady Di frilly shirt, a navy skirt, and a pair of hideous mini healed pumps. We thought we were fabulous!
Fortunately, most of us have managed to move on, but Jessica and I seldom move out of our London comfort zone - Sloane Square, Walton Street, Chelsea Harbor Design Centre, Fulham Road, Kings Road, the park near Kensington Palace, High Street Ken, Ken Church Street and Notting Hill - the top part!
